In our Smithers office, with funding provided through the Canada-British Columbia Labour Market Agreement, Kopar Administration is pleased to provide Job Placement and Work Training assistance through the Job Options BC program.
In this 10 week program, participants are involved in a classroom environment for six weeks where a Kopar facilitator delivers group-based workshops to provide the necessary skills and tools to enable participant attachment to work. All of the important foundations for successful job placement will be covered from résumé and cover letter writing, to job interviews and expectations for the modern job market. Alongside the group work individual assessments are completed with the facilitator to determine realistic and achievable attachment to work.
Participant-specific job leads and training opportunities are provided based on the needs of each individual as well as continual support from Kopar staff for individual job searching beyond completion of the program, if required.
Eligibility for Job Options BC:
- Unemployed British Columbians who are Landed Immigrants
or Canadian Citizens living in BC - Non-EI clients (have not established a regular EI claim in the last three years and have not established a maternity or parental claim in the past five years)
- 18 years of age or older
- Not attending school
- Individuals who are most likely to benefit from long term job search help, supported work experience and follow-up support services
- not participating in another Labour Market Agreement (LMA) funded program
The program consists of:
- Group session with training/support funds
- Training that is specific to job attachment
- Temporary wage subsidy to assist in long term attachment
- Support and mentoring to successful job placement
