Experience Works – take 3!

With the first two sessions under our belts in Camrose, Alberta, we are beginning to get itchy for our third session.  Yes, it is hard to believe that we have already run 3 sessions of our Experience Works program, a job search program that is part of the Federal Government’s Targeted Initiative for Older Workers, with funding from the Alberta Government.  This program is designed for those between the ages of 55 and 64 who are wanting to re-enter the workforce.

Our third session is set to begin on January 30, 2012 which means we are taking names immediately!  The previous 2 sessions had overwhelming response, so we are expecting our thrid session to do likewise.  If you are wanting to get one of the limited seats in this 12 week session, then you need to contact us quickly.  Don’t delay or you may miss out on the perfect opportunity to get back into the workforce!

You can book an interview with one of our facilitators by contacting our Camrose office.

Prince George Cougars Make Christmas Special

PG Cougars VP Brandi Brodsky donates gifts

PG Cougars VP Brandi Brodsky donates gifts

In yet another display of their commitment to the Prince George community, the Prince George Cougars WHL hockey team made a significant donation of gifts to needy individuals.  Kopar Administration will be distributing these gifts to many of our needy clients in our Community Assistance Program and our Specialized Community Assistance Program, many of whom this will make a significant impact on their Holiday season.

Prince George Cougars Vice President Brandi Brodsky, makes this donation a yearly event and it is gifts like this, to people who are in need which truly symbolizes the importance of the Hockey club to the community.

Kopar Administration’s Community Assistance Program (CAP) assists individuals on Income Assistance who have significant barriers to employment, try and overcome or adapt to these difficulties.  Our Specialized Community Assistance Program (SCAP) works to help people who have been chronically homeless and may also have or had mental health issues or drug addiction issues with moving into more permanent housing and to overcome barriers which will hopefully eventually lead to employment.

For many of these clients, this gift is the only gift they will receive this Christmas season, which makes it all that much more special.Prince George Cougars

On behalf of our clients, we here at Kopar Administration would like to thank Brandi and the Prince George Cougars for this generation donation.  Go Cats Go!

Kopar Receives Award for Role in HIP!

Nadine holds the PSSDC award for HIP

On Dec 6, 2011 Kopar Administration in Prince George, BC was honoured to receive an award from the Public Sector Service Delivery Council.  The award was given to Kopar for excellence in public service delivery for our role in the Homelessness Intervention Project.  Kopar is but one of many players in this very important project which seeks to better address the needs of the chronically homeless.  “By taking advantage of existing community resources, and placing a priority on housing the chronically homeless, HIP was intended to see how much further government and community resources could go with a focus on collaboration.”

Kopar is proud to be but one of many resources in the community of Prince George, which addresses this serious problem, and even prouder of the success that HIP has had in that community.  It truly symbolizes what can be accomplished with the proper funding and when everyone pulls together for a common objective.  We are excited that our Specialized Community Assistance Program (SCAP)allows us to play a part in a much larger and broader project.

Prince George Cougars Partnership

It is hockey season here at Kopar Administration and we are very excited to drop the puck Prince George Cougarswith the Prince George Cougars this season in the WHL.

The Cougars have been extremely generous and once again showing the seriousness with which they take their community pride.  This season, some participants in Kopar programs will be the beneficiaries of free game tickets to watch the Prince George Cougars play at home in CN Centre.  Some of our clients most in need will be given the opportunity to attend a Cougars hockey game, thanks to the Prince George Cougars generosity.  For many of our clients, attending a Cougars game is a luxury they cannot afford.  With the donation of game tickets, now many clients will be able to take their families out for a nice evening to watch a hockey game, many of whom without this gift would be unable to do.

On behalf of the staff and clients of Kopar Administration, I wish to thank the Prince George Cougars for this great opportunity which really demonstrates how much of an important part of the Prince George community the Cougars really are.

Presentation Part 2

Tomorrow is the big day.  We have worked hard with our partners at Jump on Board, CFDC, TRADES, and Educacentre amongst many others to put together a proposal that got us to the presentation stage of the ELMS-004 RFP with regards to the new employment program of BC that the Province of BC’s Ministry of Social Development is looking to implement.

Together with Splashmedia, we have put together what we think is a terrific presentation utilizing presentation slides, video, 3d renderings and some display banners.  We really feel the people at Splashmedia really out did themselves considering the short time frame we had to put it all together.  Mike and his Team did a great job.

Now it is up to our presentation Team pull it all together and present the information in an engaging and exciting way.  Kopar will be presenting with our major subcontractor in the proposal – Jump on Board.  We hope to answer all the questions and really put the finishing touches on what has been a grueling process to complete all the areas of the proposal.

Wish us luck!
